We appeal to a wide variety of students with varied interests, from the newcomer to photography with a point-and-shoot or cell phone camera, to an experienced photographer who wants to expand their expertise. We offer the knowledge and dedication to teach you the skills needed to reach your goals. We offer studio classes, computer classes, safaris, and excursions. Have an idea for a class? Enjoy the tropics in Chicago on photo safari at the Lincoln Park Conservatory. See the Magic of the Conservatory thru the eyes of a professional photographer. I am there to help facilitate your image making. To show you the things I see, and how you too, can make amazing images that illustrate a narrative about your experience in the Conservatory.

We will photograph flowers, plants and architecture. Students will learn about composition, lighting, perspective, and property rights. Bring your digital camera and a monopod if available. Don’t bring your tripod, they are not allowed.

This Safari will take place at the Illinois Railway Museum (IRM) which is located in Union IL, approximately 60 miles northwest of Chicago, IL. Illinois Railway Museum, 7000 Olson Road, Union, IL 60180. The IRM is approximately 50 years old and keeps over 375 pieces of  equipment such as train engines, steam locomotives, passenger cars, trolleys, streetcars, inter-urban cars, and many more. The grounds cover many dozens of acres and have several miles of track, both indoors and outdoors.

October 15th Sunday noon - 3PM and Shoot Oct 21 Saturday 10PM - 2AM

Master Class - Live Theatre Performance shoot at Kiss Kiss Cabaret - Halloween Show

Meet at REP3 photo studio

This is a 3 session class, the first session is all about how to do it, and the second session is actually doing it, and the 3rd session is post production work editing and a critique of the work. The post production session will be scheduled at students & teachers convenience.

Price: $1499 total per student for all 3 sessions inclusive.

Shoot a Burlesque Cabaret from back stage, learn how the pros do it, make images of live theatre good enough to be published in a magazine. This is only for serious photography students who have mastered the basic use of their camera and want to learn advanced and secret techniques never shared before.


Topics include:

1) The difference between the P, S, M, & A modes 

2) The light meter - how to use it properly for performance photography

3) White balance - what it is and how to use it to your advantage.

4) Stage etiquette: including what to wear and what not to do.

5) Manual mode with spot meter, and Shutter priority mode with center weighted metering.

6) Practice doing it.

7) Shoot a live event.

8) Post production techniques.

November 25th 2017, Saturday 7AM - Noon

Photo Excursion - Everglades National Park

Location: Meet at Jt’s Cafe, 238 Mamie St. Chokoloskee Island, FL 34138

Price: $1349 per student (price does not include transportation, room or board)

Class size Limits: Minimum of 3 students must sign up for this class to happen.

Prerequisite: Age 18 and up or accompanied by guardian.


The tour is about 3 or 4 hours long, moving from boat to small islands and doing some walking. We will have my friend Bruce resident wildlife photographer, Florida Master Naturalist and licensed Coast Guard captain as our guide. We will use a stable shallow draft boat to maneuver in and around the everglades - during the trip we will explore some of the small seldom visited islands and photograph the wildlife.


After the Photo Excursion you are encouraged to join your instructor at JT’s Cafe where we will enjoy refreshments and critique some of the photographs you made using Roberts MacBook Pro and the newest version of Lightroom. If you have your own Lap top feel free to bring it along to speed up the downloading of images.


The Everglades National Park encompasses over 2,350 square miles of wetlands and coastal islands. One of North America’s most diverse wilderness areas with over 350 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, 50 species of reptiles and 1,000 species of plants including 25 species of orchids. The photo opportunities are endless.

We will enlist the expertise of a resident who knows the city. Our Guide will also translate for us and show where to find local's favorite cuisine, with reasonably priced meals under $10 and bed& breakfast accommodations at only $490 per week for a suite that sleeps 2 or 4.
